Accessibility statement
Status:
March 12, 2026
1. Introduction and objective
The Zürserhof strives to make its website accessible in accordance with the Accessibility Act (BaFG) implementing EU Directive 2019/882. Our goal is to provide all users, regardless of their individual abilities or technical requirements, with the most unrestricted access possible to the information and services on our website. The accessibility requirements are based on the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, conformance level AA.
2. Status of compliance with requirments
This website is currently partially compliant with the applicable accessibility requirements. We are continuously working to identify existing barriers and gradually remove them.
3. Non-accessible content
As part of an internal accessibility check, various content areas (e.g., career page, conferences, room descriptions) were checked for digital accessibility. The following barriers were identified:
Content barriers
- Non-descriptive or duplicate link texts (e.g., “Learn more”) make navigation difficult for screen reader users
- Some graphic links (e.g., logos in the header/footer such as Zürserhof or LHW) do not contain any text content and cannot be interpreted correctly by screen readers
- Structural deficiencies such as empty headings (e.g., in the conferences section) and jumps in the heading hierarchy may occur
- Embedded videos currently lack the required subtitles. Missing alternative text for logos (e.g., “The Leading Hotels of the World”)
Technical barriers
- Some labels or the program-controlled purpose assignment of the email field are missing in the newsletter registration
- In addition, legends are missing for field groups (e.g., checkbox for privacy policy)
- Incorrect or missing ARIA description IDs were found (e.g., for slider elements in price tables). Some embedded elements, such as YouTube videos, do not have frame titles
Visual/graphical barriers
- The breadcrumb navigation and the slider arrows for images have insufficient contrast
- White text on a light background (e.g., snowy landscape on the careers page) or text within parallax effects is difficult to read
- Golden text on a light background and certain quote boxes (white on gold) do not meet the required contrast values
- In dark areas (white on black), fonts that are too thin sometimes make readability difficult
4. Reasons for deviations
Some accessibility measures require a high level of technical effort or affect the basic design aesthetics of the website. In these cases, immediate implementation currently represents a disproportionate burden within the meaning of Section 8 of the BaFG. However, we are striving for gradual optimization.
5. Creation and review process
This statement was created on March 12, 2026, based on an internal audit. The review was conducted on the basis of the WCAG 2.1, Level AA criteria, taking into account content, technical, and design aspects of the domain www.zuerserhof.at.
